Customer Support
We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly customer service representative to answer questions such as “How do I get a magic carpet?” and “Where is the secret treasure room?" This is a temp-to-hire position in our San Francisco office, with primary responsibility in the following areas.
Job Responsibilities:- Responding to customer service inquiries
- Reviewing and approving usernames
- Live moderation of the Website
- Replicating user problems for the technical team
- Summarizing problem reports and user feedback
- College degree (college students or recent grads welcome)
- Strong writing skills and ability to communicate in a way that children can understand
- Adept at using Web-based email applications
- Excellent customer facing skills, both in dealing with kids and parents
- Pleasant, friendly style and desire to help customers above and beyond the call of duty
- Organized and detail-oriented; ability to analyze top customer-facing issues
- Ability to work independently according to company policy and suggest improvements to processes and communications
- Ability to multi-task and be flexible to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for games and children's entertainment

Senior Server Developer
We are looking for a Senior Server Developer to optimize and scale our server architecture during this exciting growth phase. This is a full-time position at our downtown San Francisco office, with primary responsibilities in feature development, live site deployment, administering remote hosted servers, testing, and instrumentation. This role is a senior position as a team lead where some management oversight and the ability to delegate, achieve long term goals and set good priorities is required. Our core technologies require total familiarity with MySQL, Rails, Java, and Linux. Candidates must love to master the dynamics of growing scale and capabilities, meeting challenges, and managing the process from the ground up while maintaining user confidence in the stability of our games.
Requirements:- Minimum 4+ years coding multi-threaded Java on linux
- Minimum 3+ years of developing and deploying MySQL backends, including indexing, multi-box replication and optimizations for performance
- Minimum 1 to 2+ years of coding in Rails, including developing functioning web applications, modeling and migrating MySQL databases from Rails
- Passion for social apps and web games and the ability to still be a kid (or just imagine like one!)
- Ability to develop creatively, absorb new data and meet monitoring, automation and instrumentation challenges
- Experience in staging and deploying remote-hosted linux hardware into an existing live site
- Good management skills and team skills, self-starter with the ability to work independently and thrive within a cross-disciplinary technology team
- Ability to multi-task and remain flexible to changing priorities in a fast-paced startup culture
- Excitement about scalability and performance of web applications
- High-level experience in consumer-facing web applications strongly preferred
- Experience with social apps, online games and synchronous multi-user gaming architectures all preferred
